Edward D. Swenson Chief Deputy Director | State of California DMV
The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has announced a temporary closure of its Long Beach office for maintenance work. The office, located at 3700 East Willow St., will close at noon on Thursday, November 7, and is expected to reopen by 9 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13.
During this period, DMV customers are advised to visit nearby offices. These include the Bellflower office at 9520 Artesia Blvd., which is six miles away; the Compton office at 2111 South Santa Fe Ave., ten miles from Long Beach; the Torrance office at 1785 West 220th St., twelve miles away; and the Westminster office at 13700 Hoover St., also twelve miles from Long Beach.
The DMV encourages customers to utilize online services for tasks that do not require an in-person visit. Many transactions can be completed digitally, including driver’s license and vehicle registration renewals. Customers can access these services through the DMV's website and use the Service Advisor tool to determine how best to complete their required tasks.
For those interested in receiving paperless notices for vehicle registration and driver’s license renewals, signing up or creating an account on dmv.ca.gov is necessary.
