Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency in Lake County to aid communities affected by the Boyles Fire. This move follows California's recent acquisition of a Fire Management Assistance Grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to secure resources for fire suppression.

The proclamation includes several measures to support residents, such as providing unemployment benefits, waiving fees for replacing essential documents like driver's licenses and birth certificates, and speeding up debris removal and hazardous waste cleanup.

A copy of the proclamation is available online.
