Edward D. Swenson Chief Deputy Director | State of California DMV
The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has announced the reopening of its Quincy office on January 6. The office, located at 1953 E. Main St., Suite 3, will resume operations at 8 a.m. after being closed since December 24 for repainting.
In an effort to streamline services and reduce the need for in-person visits, the DMV highlights the availability of numerous digital services. Many DMV tasks can be completed online without requiring a visit to an office. These include simple self-service transactions that are no longer offered in physical locations.
The DMV encourages customers to utilize its online services and other service channels for tasks such as eligible driver's license and vehicle registration renewals. Customers can also use the Service Advisor on the DMV website to explore their options for completing various DMV-related tasks.
To receive paperless vehicle registration and driver's license renewal notices, customers are advised to opt-in by creating a secure online account and registering at dmv.ca.gov.
