Rudy Giuliani, the former New York Mayor, is embroiled in a legal conflict with two Georgia election workers who have accused him of defamation. The dispute has escalated with allegations that Giuliani emptied his $6.5 million New York City apartment of valuables after being ordered to hand it over as part of a $150 million damages payout.

Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss successfully sued Giuliani for defamation in 2023, claiming their lives were upended by falsehoods spread by Giuliani and others following the 2020 presidential election. They were awarded $148 million in damages and sought control over some of Giuliani's assets to ensure payment.

These assets included his Manhattan apartment, valued at approximately $6 million; a Palm Beach property worth $3.5 million; a Mercedes-Benz; and New York Yankees World Series rings. In October, a judge granted their request, ordering Giuliani to surrender these items along with other valuables such as watches and sports memorabilia.

However, upon receiving the keys to the apartment, Freeman and Moss found it "emptied of its contents," according to their attorney Aaron Nathan. Nathan claims most valuable items were removed weeks before they gained access, and Giuliani has not disclosed their whereabouts.

“Save for some rugs, a dining room table, some stray pieces of small furniture and inexpensive wall art, and a handful of smaller items like dishes and stereo equipment, the Apartment has been emptied of all of its contents,” Nathan stated.

Nathan further alleged that some belongings were moved to a storage facility on Long Island but did not specify which items. Judge Lewis Liman has summoned Giuliani to court on November 7th to clarify where these possessions are held.

Giuliani bought the co-op in 2002 for $4.8 million but listed it for sale in July 2023 before removing it from listings in October 2024. It remains unclear what Freeman and Moss plan to do with the property once resolved.

Interestingly, reports suggest that Giuliani might consider another run for New York mayor in 2025. He commented from his Palm Beach residence: “I’m not going to say never, ever, ever,” though he is not actively campaigning at present.
