The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has announced the reopening of its Whittier office on Monday, January 13, at 8 a.m. The office, located at 9338 S. Painter Ave., had been closed since December 26 for repairs to a damaged exterior wall.
The DMV is encouraging customers to utilize its online services before visiting an office. Many DMV tasks can be completed digitally, and simple self-service transactions are no longer available in offices. "The DMV encourages customers to use its online services and other service channels to complete transactions," a statement from the department noted.
For those needing assistance with their DMV tasks, the Service Advisor tool on the DMV website offers guidance on available options. Additionally, customers interested in paperless vehicle registration and driver’s license renewal notices can opt-in by creating a secure online account at dmv.ca.gov.
