A Louisiana mother of six has gained attention on social media for her extensive renovation of a mobile home, now dubbed the "hillbilly mansion." Christina Ludeau Smith showcased her seven-bedroom, four-bathroom home on TikTok, revealing how she expanded the space from 2,800 to nearly 3,800 square feet.

Smith lives in the renovated double-wide trailer with her husband and their children. She described the transformation: “We’ve turned our double-wide into a seven-bedroom, four bath, practically two laundry rooms, walk-in pantry, and more,” adding in another video that they are “bougie on a budget.”

The decision to expand rather than purchase a new home was influenced by financial considerations. Smith noted that most of the trailer was already paid off after 11 years and buying a house of similar size would be unaffordable. The renovation cost between $15,000 to $20,000—far less than an initial contractor's estimate of $60,000.

In her home tour videos, Smith highlights features such as an expansive farmhouse-style kitchen with an island and walk-in pantry. Other areas include a dining room and living room leading to a large primary bedroom with en suite bathroom and walk-in closet.

The extended corridor showcases bedrooms for younger children each measuring 15-by-15 feet with nearby laundry facilities. Her oldest son enjoys a spacious room while one daughter’s room features a bay window and granite countertops in its bathroom. Smith emphasizes that “everyone has their own space.”
