With the open enrollment period for health insurance set to commence on November 1st, the Nevada Division of Insurance has announced that Plan Year 2025 health insurance rates and plans are now accessible for review. Nevadans can choose from up to 185 plans in the individual health insurance market both on and off the Silver State Health Insurance Exchange. The Exchange helps eligible residents purchase affordable health and dental plans.
Insurance Commissioner Scott Kipper emphasized the importance of reviewing options early: “We are pleased to offer consumers the ability to review their insurance options in advance and to identify the plan that best accommodates their budget and coverage needs,” said Kipper. He encouraged Nevadans to utilize this opportunity before open enrollment begins.
Open enrollment is a critical period for securing health insurance as it is often the only time individuals can enroll in an ACA-compliant plan without needing a qualifying life event like marriage or childbirth. This year’s offerings include a wide range of plans designed to cater to diverse healthcare needs.
Several companies will provide health insurance plans in 2025, including Aetna Health, Health Plan of Nevada, HMO Nevada, Hometown Health Plan, Hometown Health Providers (off-exchange only), Imperial Insurance Companies (on-exchange only), Molina Healthcare of Nevada (on-exchange only), Select Health, Sierra Health & Life (off-exchange only), and SilverSummit.
To review available plans, Nevadans can visit the Division's website at healthrates.doi.nv.gov. Here they will find information about each plan’s premium rates and coverage options. For rate changes or comments on listed plans, residents can visit doi.nv.gov/rate-filings/.
The Division also recommends using resources provided by Nevada Health Link, which assists those seeking appropriate coverage. It offers guidance through its website or via phone support at 1-800-547-2927.
Open enrollment for Plan Year 2025 runs from November 1, 2024, until January 15, 2025. The Division urges everyone to explore their options during this time.
