Following the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King has announced the deployment of agency staff to Vidalia. The team will establish a Hurricane Claims Village to assist residents affected by the storm.
The Catastrophe Claims Village aims to provide policyholders with direct access to insurance professionals who can help them file claims or address any insurance-related inquiries. Representatives from both the Georgia Department of Insurance and major insurance carriers will be present at the event.
Additionally, members of Commissioner King’s Criminal Investigations Division will be available to investigate potential fraudulent activities and educate residents on avoiding post-disaster insurance scams.
The Vidalia Claims Village is scheduled to take place at Lowes, located at 3209 E First St, Vidalia, GA 30474. It will operate on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturday, October 12, 2024, during the same hours.
For those unable to attend in person, assistance is available through the Consumer Services Hotline at 1-800-656-2298 from Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
