John F. King Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner | Georgia Department of Insurance & Safety Fire
Following the severe damage caused by Hurricane Helene, Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced that agency staff will be deployed to Augusta and Valdosta to establish a Hurricane Claims Village. This initiative aims to assist Georgians affected by the storm.
At the Catastrophe Claims Village, policyholders can meet with insurance professionals to file claims or get answers to insurance-related questions. The village will feature representatives from the Georgia Department of Insurance and major insurance carriers.
Commissioner King's Criminal Investigations Division members will also be present to investigate potential fraudulent activities and educate residents on protecting themselves from post-disaster insurance scams.

Augusta Claims Village:

- Dates: Thursday, 10/03/2024 (10:00 AM - 7:00 PM) and Friday, 10/04/2024 (10:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Valdosta Claims Village:
- Location: The Home Depot, 1825 Norman Dr, Valdosta, GA 31601
- Dates: Thursday, 10/03/2024 (10:00 AM - 7:00 PM) and Friday, 10/04/2024 (10:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Georgians unable to attend the event can call the Consumer Services Hotline at 1-800-656-2298 for assistance. The hotline is available Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
