A homeowner in Florida, who did everything right to protect her home, never knew she could get her premium reduced just by proving her home had tie downs – at least not until a Kin Insurance agent told her what to do.
By contacting an engineering firm that could prepare a wind mitigation report to prove the home had tie-downs, Elizabeth saw her insurance costs cut in half. She had never filed a claim in the house over the past 16 years, yet her premiums kept rising. With a report by Third Nail of the Palm Beaches in hand, she had her annual premium cut to $3,049, a decrease of $3,920.
“My insurance company never offered or knew that you could have an engineer prove your house had tie-downs,” Elizabeth told TrustPilot. “The fact that [Dezirae at Kin Insurance] knew this information and shared it with us, while our other agent did not, just about blows my mind.”
She appreciates the access to information about her premium through Kin’s online platform also.
Money is important, but customer experience is worth a lot to Martin Lieson.
“Having a customer service as Yatz taking the time to properly answer all my questions and explaining to the detail my policy to me was an experience I didn’t had before with any Insurance company,” Lieson said in a TrustPilot review.
He was surprised the company answered his email and calls, so follow-up by Kin employees caused him to pick the company for his home’s insurance.
The Progressive offer to find a better homeowner’s insurance policy worked for Terry Chase when that carrier sent him to Kin. After his existing homeowner’s policy rose by 50%, he was looking for a change. The referral to Kin saved him $500 on his premium, he told TrustPilot.
