Homeowners in catastrophe-prone areas like Florida have found it easy to sign up for insurance coverage with Kin.

Customers of Kin, a fully licensed home insurance technology company, told Trust Pilot the insurer responds quickly and has great customer service.

“They were quick to respond to my request for a home insurance quote,” Patsy Lewis said on a Trust Pilot review.

Getting a quote requires entering your property address on the company’s website, Kin.com. That’s it. The insurance technology company uses that address to access thousands of property data points. With those data points, Kin creates customized quotes for coverages and prices.

“We handle the complexity of home insurance so our customers don’t have to,” Kin said on its website.

Customers can use this DIY online experience. Or they can call for personal assistance from in-house licensed insurance experts. With either method, Kin recommends coverage for each home with a policy that’s customized based on the customer and property’s needs. Kin’s website said the company makes sure its policyholders aren’t like 64% of U.S. households that remain underinsured by at least 27%.

If a customer needs to file a claim, Kin again leverages technology in the process. The company uses aerial imagery, drones and virtual inspections to make claims.

“Very happy with Kin Insurance for my Homeowners policies. Reasonable premiums, professional service, and user-friendly iPhone App," Robin said in a Trusted Pilot review.

In addition to easy sign-ups for insurance, Kin’s website gives customers answers to FAQs. These go beyond a few simple queries. Kin covers homeowner’s insurance, costs and discounts (and how to get those discounts), the application process (a windstorm mitigation report may be necessary) and homeownership questions. It also offers home inventory worksheets and home maintenance guidelines. A glossary of insurance terms helps customers understand their coverage and policies.
